This means that Aldi will work Fairtrade and the Rainforest Alliance, among others, with a mind toward strengthening the banana supply chain. Aldi’s plan is part of a wider company initiative and corporate strategy, which includes plans to reduce environmental impact and reduce carbon footprint, with the company set to install 96,000 solar panels across 50 UK stores.
