Ethical brand ratings and accreditation since 2001

EcoYoga

How ethical is EcoYoga?

EcoYoga, a manufacturer of sustainable yoga mats, is one of The Good Shopping Guide’s top-rated ethical brands and is featured on our list of the Top 200 Ethical Businesses.

Although EcoYoga does not appear on our ethical rating tables, its ethical status has been independently verified by The Good Shopping Guide. We encourage other companies to follow EcoYoga’s example and adopt more ethical policies and practices.

What makes EcoYoga so sustainable?

EcoYoga’s motivation is to provide an alternative to the oil-based plastic mats mass-made in Asia that dominate the market and offer something more in line with the philosophy of yoga; something more natural, simple, and sustainable whilst still functional.

The mats are made from two plant-based ingredients: a hessian (jute fabric) scrim and 100% aqueous natural rubber.

Jute is known as one of the strongest fibres in the world, which allows EcoYoga’s mats to have an extra long lifespan. This helps to prevent waste from using poor-quality yoga mats that will need to be regularly replaced.

How did EcoYoga attain Ethical Accreditation?

EcoYoga has attained Ethical Accreditation from The Good Shopping Guide. This involved an application process and a full review of the brand’s ethical policies and practices. EcoYoga is subject to an annual review to ensure the company maintains high ethical standards.

As a result, EcoYoga is permitted to use our Good Shopping Guide Ethical logo, which certifies the brand’s ethical status and allows consumers to recognise EcoYoga as an ethical brand.
