Fairtrade, Ethical: Arena Flowers by The Good Shopping Guide | Jan 18, 2019 | Ethical Accreditation | 0 comments Arena Flowers – one of the UK’s leading online florist – has been re-awarded Ethical Accreditation, following an annual ethical audit by The Ethical Company Organisation. Arena Flowers is one of only a few online florists selling Fairtrade flowers – buying from certified farms which must ensure safety and working conditions for their employees. These farms receive a premium of 10% for every stem sold, which allows workers to invest in healthcare, education and other social benefits. Arena Flowers strives to reduce negative environmental impacts within their business – the company recycles all unsold flowers and the cardboard boxes that the flowers are delivered in, plus other waste materials such as glass, cans and plastic are also recycled where possible. Energy use is minimised by using energy saving units for the lighting in their warehouse, plus staff are encouraged to consider the environment by using public transport and they are also part of the governments Cycle to Work Scheme – which provides funding for new employee bikes. Arena Flowers receives a top-ranking Ethical Company Index of 100 in the latest Flower Delivery Companies research.
