Global beer giant, Heineken, has committed to new science-based sustainability targets.

As outlined in the company’s updated sustainability strategy, Heineken is committing to a number of notable policies, including an increase in renewable energy production. The aim here is to see an increase in production from 14% currently to 70% by 2030. Further, the company has suggested that it has already succeeded in reducing emissions by 41% since 2008, and also that its plans will see a further 80% reduction in carbon emissions.

The company also announced that it will commit to science-based targets across its distribution operations, as well as when it comes to cooling and packaging. Additionally, Heineken has revealed that it will pilot an internal carbon price scheme.
