IKEA sees growth in sales for sustainable products by The Good Shopping Guide | Mar 16, 2018 | Ethical Shopping Blog | 0 comments IKEA has been making news on a regular basis in recent time. The latest headlines include the company’s announcement that sales in sustainable products continues to grow. In fact, the furniture and retail giant reported that its Sustainable Life at Home range has grown to €1.7bn. This range now comprises over 500 products, including IKEA’s widely featured solar panel and battery storage range. In addition to this positive growth, the company also reported that use of renewable energy across global operations increased from 71 per cent in 2016 to 73 per cent in 2017. This increase was supported by the 750,000 solar panels now installed on IKEA buildings globally, with the retailer also investing in 416 wind turbines, contributing to a drop in emissions even thought many challenges still remain. Other announcements include waste and resources, as well as the company’s launch of new science-based sustainability targets.
