A significant amount of well-known brands are produced by just ten food companies. Between these ten largest food and drink manufacturers, which control most of the world’s food production, it is estimated that they make 1 billion US dollars per day.

While a recent UN Report has called for significant changes to the corporate domination of food production, suggesting that democratic control of food is desperately required, Oxfam has put together a really good online resource to help people engage with the issues and understand more about the realities of global food production in the current economic context.
