2014 has so far been the year of the climate report. Following the landmark Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report and “What We Know” by American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), The National Climate Assessment (NCA) – a 1,300-page report compiled by 300 leading scientists and experts – has also just been released, providing a comprehensive review of climate change and impacts on the United States.

“Climate change, once considered an issue for a distant future, has moved firmly into the present,” a draft version of the report states. As a conscious consumer there are practical ways you can take action. With power stations being one of the biggest sources of carbon dioxide emissions – accounting for around one third of the total produced – switching to a renewable energy supplier is very good first step.
