UK supermarket, Morrisons, trials plastic bottle return system by The Good Shopping Guide | Jul 4, 2018 | Ethical Shopping Blog | 0 comments UK supermarket chain, Morrisons, has begun trialing reverse vending machines that accept any single-use plastic bottle with a barcode. Customers are able to deposit up to 20 bottles a day, and in return they are given loyalty points to spend in store. The trial will last for 6 months at select locations. The new scheme follows a number of recent sustainability related announcements by Morrisons, including the introduction of paper bags as a substitute when shopping for loose fruit and vegetables. Customers are also able to use their own containers for meat and fish. More here.
