Global car giant, Volvo, has unveiled its first ‘climate neutral’ manufacturing plant. Situated in Sweden, the factory will be responsible for the manufacturing of engines for Volvo cars.

Volvo has plans to become an entirely climate neutral car manufacturer across all global operations by 2025. The announcement of its first climate neutral facility is a step toward this goal. It comes as a result of the plant switching to renewable heating systems, because on heat supplies generated from waste incineration, biomass and recycled bio-products.

The plant’s electricity needs is already powered by renewable sources, with many of Volvo’s European plants sharing the same accomplishment.
