How ethical and sustainable is Kenwood?
Kenwood is included in The Good Shopping Guide’s Dishwasher Ethical Ratings Table. Although Kenwood has not yet upheld our ethical standards, we are confident that in the future, the company will reform in order to do business in a more moral manner. By requesting Ethical Accreditation, which would entail a more thorough investigation and recommendations for ethical development, Kenwood might raise consumer trust.
What does Kenwood do?
Kenwood was founded in 1947 by Kenneth wood who saw a future where people would be inspired by brilliant engineering to cook creatively. The brand sells a large range of kitchen appliances including Stand mixes, all-in-one cookers, blenders and other small appliances. The brand also has a range of full size, slimline and integrated dishwashers. De’Longhi Holding S.A. acquired Kenwood in 2001.
For which criteria does Kenwood perform poorly?
Kenwood’s environmental report was given a low grade. The parent business of Kenwood has a sustainability report with evidence of advancement but no goals for the brand to strive for. The dishwasher company’s code of conduct for the brand aso earns a mixed review. Its “dealings with suppliers” section briefly covers child labour and forced labour but leaves out a number of other crucial issues.

Kenwood came under fire because The Ethical Consumer gave its parent firm, which owns at least two high-risk subsidiaries in tax havens, the poorest rating for the likelihood that it will adopt tax evasion methods.
In what areas does Kenwood score well for its ethics?
With no connections to any issues in the nuclear, fossil fuel, armaments, or political donations categories, Kenwood achieves top marks. The brand of cookers scored highly in both the categories of animal welfare and human rights.
