How ethical and sustainable is Kenwood?

What does Kenwood do?

Kenwood was founded in 1947 by Kenneth wood who saw a future where people would be inspired by brilliant engineering to cook creatively. The brand sells a large range of kitchen appliances including Stand mixes, all-in-one cookers, blenders and other small appliances. The brand also has a range of full size, slimline and integrated dishwashers. De’Longhi Holding S.A. acquired Kenwood in 2001.

For which criteria does Kenwood perform poorly? 

Kenwood’s environmental report was given a low grade. The parent business of Kenwood has a sustainability report with evidence of advancement but no goals for the brand to strive for. The dishwasher company’s code of conduct for the brand aso earns a mixed review. Its “dealings with suppliers” section briefly covers child labour and forced labour but leaves out a number of other crucial issues.

Past Criticisms of Kenwood’s ethical record

Kenwood came under fire because The Ethical Consumer gave its parent firm, which owns at least two high-risk subsidiaries in tax havens, the poorest rating for the likelihood that it will adopt tax evasion methods.
