In which areas does Asda score well for its ethics?

Asda is given a top score for Organic as it has EU Leaf certification, and a middle rating for our Fair Trade criterion as its bananas are only partially Fairtrade. It also gets a top score for its Environmental Report which contains lots of clear targets.

We found no criticisms of Asda relating to; GM, Nuclear Power, Fossil Fuels or Armaments, so it scores well for these criteria.

How can Asda improve its ethical rating?

The below-benchmark score that Asda is awarded is the result of an evaluation of multiple ethical criteria. To reach our minimum benchmark score and qualify for Ethical Accreditation, Asda has some issues to resolve including its poor Animal Welfare record.
