How ethical and sustainable is Belling?
Belling is included in The Good Shopping Guide’s Dishwashers Ethical Ratings Table. Belling has yet to meet our ethical standards, but we believe that in the future, the brand will make the necessary changes to function as a more ethical organisation. Belling might increase consumer trust by applying for Ethical Accreditation, which would include a more complete examination and suggestions for ethical development.

What does Belling do?
Charles Reginald Belling created Belling in 1912. The company sells a variety of goods, including fridge-freezers, dishwashers, built-in ovens, and range cookers, dishwashers, microwaves, and laundry appliances are all built into Belling’s built-in range. The brand of dishwashers asserts to be one of the most cherished and dependable British brands. Glen Dimplex Group, a manufacturer of heating and home appliances, purchased Belling in 1992.
For which criteria does Belling perform poorly?
Belling received a poor rating because there was no code of behaviour. The parent company of the business has a sustainability report that lists a Net Zero objective and other indicators of success but no other goals, earning it a bad grade for the brand’s environmental report. While the parent company was criticised for not paying its workers a living wage, Belling also received a mixed review for how it handled human rights concerns.
In what areas does Belling score well for its ethics?
Belling receives a high score for Nuclear Power issues, Fossil Fuels, Animal Welfare concerns, Armaments, Political Donations and Public Record Criticisms as the brand has no links to any of these.
How can Belling improve its ethical rating?
The Ethical rating of a brand is divided into three categories by The Good Shopping Guide: the Environment, People and Animals. Find out more about how we rate.
Belling may improve its score and meet our core ethical requirements by releasing a Code of Conduct and a more complete Environmental Report with a set of targets for the brand to strive towards.
