What does OKI receive a top rating for?

The Good Shopping Guide awards OKI with a top score for our Nuclear Power, Armaments and Animal Welfare categories due to a lack of negative records.

What scores does OKI need to work on?

Unfortunately, OKI receives a middle rating for our Environmental Report category. OKI has an Environmental Challenge which contains several carbon reduction targets.

However, it is only aiming for an 80% reduction by 2050 instead of Net Zero. There is also a lack of detailed information and no other targets which is why it does not achieve a top rating.

(What is Net Zero: “a target of completely negating the amount of greenhouse gases produced by human activity, to be achieved by reducing emissions and implementing methods of absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
“global net emissions of carbon dioxide will need to fall to net zero by 2050”. ~ Definition taken from Google’s Oxford Languages).

What can OKI do to improve its score?

OKI’s score within The Good Shopping Guide’s Ethical Printers, Scanners & All In Ones sector is the outcome of a consideration of multiple ethical criteria.

Even though it currently has a below benchmark score, The Good Shopping Guide still encourages OKI to contact us and apply for Ethical Accreditation. In doing so we would be able to offer OKI some guidance on how to improve and become one of our most ethical TV brands.
