What does SEE do?
SSE can trace its roots back nearly 80 years to the introduction of electricity generation in the north of Scotland. The North of Scotland Hydro-Electric Board was established in 1943 by the Hydro Electric Development Act, bringing electricity to the Highlands for the first time. Hundreds of hydro dams and power plants were built across the region’s unique but difficult terrain.
