Zixty

How ethical is Zixty?

Zixty, a sustainable car insurance company, is one of The Good Shopping Guide’s leading Ethical Accreditation members and is featured on our list of the Top 200 Ethical Businesses.

Zixty therefore receives an excellent Good Shopping Guide ethical score in our Insurance Ethical Comparison Table and successfully passes our ethical benchmark.

Zixty offers short-term car and van insurance (from 1 hour to 28 days) with an environmental conscience. Motor insurance is a grudge purchase, and it’s boring. Zixty is on a mission to make it relevant, interesting and as fun as insurance can be! Whilst Zixty currently offers short-term motor insurance, it also aims to launch other insurance products later in 2024.

In which areas does Zixty perform well?

We are pleased to confirm that Zixty scores well in all aspects of our ethical assessment, achieving a top rating in all research categories.

For instance, Zixty achieved a top rating in the Environmental Report category, due to its comprehensive sustainability efforts.

Zixty also receives a top rating for Environmental Destruction and Public Record Criticisms, which indicates that the company has not been found to be involved in any unethical social or environmental practices.

What makes Zixty so sustainable?

When taking out a car insurance policy with Zixty, customers can offset the carbon emissions from their car journeys through Zixty’s partner, Eden Reforestation, a non-profit organisation that helps to plant trees across the globe.

The total carbon emissions from each customers’ journey are calculated through the Zixty app and then offset, with Zixty covering the costs of the tree planting. As a result, Zixty customers can offset up to 100 miles of their daily journey, helping to minimise their carbon footprint and overall environmental impact.

Additionally, Zixty has a Sustainability Policy which focuses on its own operations and outlines its commitment to recycling, minimising waste and improving energy efficiency. The company also has comprehensive policies centred around Diversity and Equality, as well as a Dignity at Work Policy which helps ensure its employees are treated fairly and with respect.

How did Zixty achieve Ethical Accreditation?

Zixty has attained Ethical Accreditation from The Good Shopping Guide. This involved a detailed audit of the brand’s ethical policies and practices to verify its ethical status. Zixty is subject to regular checks to ensure the company maintains high ethical standards.

As a result, Zixty is permitted to use our Good Shopping Guide Ethical mark, which certifies the brand’s ethical status and allows consumers to recognise Zixty as an ethical business.
