Ethical brand ratings and accreditation since 2001

The Clean Space Partnership

How ethical is The Clean Space Partnership?

The Clean Space Partnership is an office-cleaning company based in London. It also provides cleaning services in Bristol, Birmingham, Bath, Manchester and Swindon.

The Good Shopping Guide does not currently rate cleaning companies, and so this company does not appear on our ratings tables. However, The Clean Space Partnership is featured on our list of the Top 200 Ethical Businesses and was also awarded our Ethical Accreditation for its environmental and ethical initiatives.

In which areas does The Clean Space perform well?

The Clean Space performs well in its commitment to Human Rights and the rights of workers. They also have an Environmental Report and are advocates for innovative, natural, low-impact cleaning methods.

The Clean Space recognise that cleaners can be amongst some of the most financially vulnerable workers in society, are exposed to toxic chemicals and unsafe work conditions regularly, and are often employed under dubious contracts, or no contracts at all. The Clean Space work to change all this: paying its staff a Real Living Wage, using environmentally-conscious cleaning products, and investing in groundbreaking, science-based cleaning methods that don’t harm People, the Environment or Animals.

What makes The Clean Space so sustainable?

The Clean Space has a wide range of sustainable initiatives that further the brand’s ethical status. The brand pursues scientific research in cleaning, using probiotic technology and natural, vegan products in some of its cleaning packages.

The Clean Space is a Recognised Living Wage Service Provider. The Real Living Wage is different from the National Living Wage. The Clean Space recognises that many workers employed in the cleaning industry are not always paid or contracted fairly. The Real Living Wage takes into account the rising cost of essentials, and financially difficult times of the year, such as Christmas.

This cleaning brand is certified by a ISO 14001, and also complies with the voluntary EU Green Public Procurement criteria. (ISO 14001 is the most popular Environmental Management System internationally.) These two accreditations mean that The Clean Space cleans to a high standard, without compromising the health of the planet or people.

How did The Clean Space attain Ethical Accreditation?

The Clean Space has attained Ethical Accreditation from The Good Shopping Guide. This involved an application process and a full review of the brand’s ethical policies and practices. The Clean Space is subject to an annual review to ensure the company maintains high ethical standards.

As a result, The Clean Space is permitted to use our Good Shopping Guide Ethical logo, which certifies the brand’s ethical status and allows consumers to recognise The Clean Space as an ethical brand.
