ASOS, who currently ranks high on the ethical fashion index, is poised to overtake M&S in what is being described as a “seminal moment” in UK fashion.

Marks & Spencer has been a market leader in UK fashion for quite some time. But industry analysts have suggested that they are about to lose their place to ASOS, a growing technology-focused brand in UK retail. Furthermore, it has been estimated that the market value of Asos is now encroaching £4.98bn, moving very close to M&S market value of £5.08bn.

This has been described in the context of a more general shift in retail power. That ASOS is also top ranking for overall ethics is a point that should also receive a lot of attention (whereas M&S has dropped in ranking and currently sits with a mediocre 65 ECI).
