Lidl has launched its first CSR report, with the retailer outlining notable targets in areas of food waste, responsible sourcing and more. The company also challenged “misconceptions” about the relationship between its business model, sustainability and other areas of ethical responsibility.

As reported by while maintaining a commitment to low consumer prices, Lidl addresses a number of issues from targeting 100% sustainable sourcing of its own-label frozen and fresh food to the sustainable sourcing of things like cocoa and bananas. Other policies are also introduced to cover a range of environmental and social issues.
