With the commitment the company is set to reduce overall emissions by as much as one-third. This makes McDonald’s the first global restaurant company to be approved by the Science-Based Target Initiative (SBTI), specifically when it comes emissions reduction targets. As reported by edit.net, the fast-food company plans to reduce carbon emissions by as much as 150 million tonnes, according to a 36% reduction target set for 2030. They have also made a number of other moves regarding packaging and recycling. More here.
