Making headlines is Nike, who, while continuing to ranking among the least ethical, is being praised for its renewable energy commitments. The massive global brand is now more than half way toward its target of sourcing 100% renewable energy across its global operations.

The news comes as Nike confirm that its North American operations are now entirely powered by renewable energy.

But this isn’t where it ends for the brand. Last year they also committed to noteworthy emissions reduction targets, in addition to signing up as a global partner of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. Nike is also a forward voice in the “We Are Still In” declaration that support corporate and business action on climate change.

On the consumer side of things, the footwear brand also recently released its patented ‘flyleather‘ technology made from 50% recycled leather fiber.
