Survey suggests UK consumers willing to spend more for clean energy by The Good Shopping Guide | Sep 14, 2017 | Ethical Shopping Blog | 0 comments A new survey, reported by BusinessGreen, has suggested that UK consumers are willing to spend more for clean energy. More than 2000 adults were polled by the popular UK comparison website, comparethemarket.com. It is reported that 70% of consumers polled supported the idea of paying extra if their energy providers used only renewable sources. Though, as some commentators have responded, there isn’t necessarily a need to pay more inasmuch that renewables already cost less. Indeed, in the UK it is already the case that green energy tariffs are highly competitive and affordable. It is also incredibly easy to #MaketheSwitch. For a comparison of UK electricity providers based on ethical criteria and the offering of renewable energy tariffs, see the Electricity Suppliers sections of The Good Shopping Guide.
