Fanta is an American-owned brand of fruit-flavoured carbonated soft drink created by Coca-Cola Deutschland under. Fanta originated in Germany as a Coca-Cola alternative in 1940 due to the American trade embargo of Nazi Germany, which affected the availability of Coca-Cola ingredients.
In which areas does Fanta perform poorly?
Fanta receives a bottom rating for its lack of Organic or Fair Trade certification. It also scores poorly for Animal Welfare due to evidence of poor animal welfare standards at farms which supply Coca-Cola owned brands. It gets a bottom score for GM, as Coca-Cola’s website does not rule out the use of GMOs across all of its brands.
