NYX

Is NYX an ethical brand?

The Good Shopping Guide gives NYX a low ethical rating; NYX is a brand owned the notorious global conglomerate, L’Oréal. Sadly, as evidenced by its poor Good Shopping Guide Ethical rating in our Ethical Make Up Ratings Table, this brand presently does not uphold our key ethical standards. NYX needs to make a number of adjustments in order to be eligible for our Ethical Accreditation.

In which categories does NYX perform poorly?

Unfortunately, NYX performs poorly in many categories, as its parent company, L’Oréal, is involved in numerous unethical practices. For instance, as L’Oréal is involved in animal testing, NYX receives a bottom rating for Animal Welfare.

NYX also receives a bottom rating for Vegetarian/Vegan Verified, as it does not have any vegan products.

In which categories does NYX perform well ethically?

NYX receives a top rating for Genetic Modification, as the brand has not been linked to the use of GMOs.

How can NYX improve its ethical rating?

The Good Shopping Guide uses 15 ethical criteria to establish NYX’s score. NYX needs to explain and address a number of ethical issues, such as its animal welfare policies, before it can be considered an ethical company.
