But beyond the noteworthy growth of the retailer, the supermarket brand has been in the news as it pledge to cut operational food waste by 50% by 2030. The announcement follows Aldi joining the Champions 12.3 coalition, which works toward supporting the realisation of the UN Sustainable Development Goal 12.3, namely a notable reduction in food waste and food loss.
