Bosch began in 1898 as an automotive business, eventually branching out into other industries. The brand now has around 50 locations in the UK. Bosch produces a range of products as well as cookers; it also sells garden tools, heating and hot water products, power tools, smart home products and many other home appliances. For which criteria does Bosch perform poorly?

Bosch received a low rating for Human Rights issues and Political Donations. Bosch was criticised as several thousand workers protested against planned plant closures as around 1,000 staff in Germany will lose their jobs by 2025. The brand has also donated over $160k in recent election cycles.

Bosch receives a high score for its Environmental Report; its recent Sustainability Report includes goals on carbon emissions, water and renewable energy as well as providing evidence of progress throughout this. Bosch also has a strong Code of Conduct mentioning that child labour and working hours should follow ILO conventions, these are stricter than many countries’ laws and therefore meet The GOOD Shopping Guide’s criteria. The brand also receives a high score for Armaments, Fossil Fuels and Animal Welfare.
