What does Dualit do?

Dualit was founded by Max Gort-Barten and had its first patented product, the flip-sided toaster in 1946. The brand specialised in the creation of toasters expanding into other countertop products in 2000s. Dualit is now sold in 55 different countries. The brand has expanded its product range far past toasters now selling kettles, coffee products, hand mixers, blender, bottle warmers and sterilisers as well as a catering range.

In what areas does Dualit perform well?

Dualit performs well in many areas of business. Dualit’s strong Code of Conduct specifying a maximum of 60 working hours and only allows 14 year old workers when ILO conventions align earned the brand a top rating. Dualit also received a high score for Political Donations, Armaments, Human Rights concerns, Animal Welfare, Fossil Fuels and Nuclear Power as the brand received no criticism in any of these areas.

How could Dualit rate higher on our Kettles Ethical Ratings Table?

Dualit is eligible for Ethical Accreditation due to its satisfactory score according to The Good Shopping Guide, this is examined by looking at The Environment, Animals and People within a company and how much the brand considers this. Learn more about how we rate.

Ethical Accreditation boosts customer trust in a brand and serves as a certification for businesses to demonstrate that they meet an ethical standard. Dualit could improve its ethical rating score further by improving its Environmental Report, at current, the report is vague and doesn’t contain any details sharing what the company is doing to tackle the big industry concerns.

Are you curious about how obtaining Ethical Accreditation could be beneficial for your brand? Accredited brands can display The Good Shopping Guide mark, showcasing to consumers that it can be trusted as an ethical and sustainable brand.
