Is No.3 an ethical spirits brand?

No.3 is a botanical gin brand which receives an excellent score on The Good Shopping Guide’s Spirits Ethical Ratings Table.

As it has such a high score, all No.3 needs to do to receive our ethics and sustainability certification is apply for Ethical Accreditation. We would happily provide No.3 with a little bit of advice on how to work on its bottom scores before offering it our certification.

All brands are encouraged by The Good Shopping Guide to follow the example set by our top-rated brands like No.3 and adopt more sustainable practices.

What makes No.3 such a sustainable and ethical brand?

As a top-rated brand, No.3 achieves a top score in many of our categories including Animal Welfare, Fossil Fuels and Environmental Report. Berry Bros & Rudd (BB&R), No.3’s parent company has a recent Sustainability Report. The report contains environmental information but does lack targets.

However, on its Sustainability page, there are goals to become plastic-free and to reach net zero by 2030.

What scores do No.3 need to work on?

Unfortunately, No.3 receives a bottom score for our Organic category due to its lack of certification. We hope that in the future that No.3 can work on this low rating and introduce some organic gin products.

What can No.3 do to improve its score further?

No.3’s top score within The Good Shopping Guide’s Ethical Spirits sector is the result of a calculation of multiple ethical criteria.

With such an excellent score, the only thing left for No.3 to do now is to apply for Ethical Accreditation so that we can award it with our Ethical Mark. However, we would first offer No.3 some advice on how to achieve a top score in all of our categories.

Your Spirits brand could benefit from Ethical Accreditation. Our certified brands are able to proudly display our logo which demonstrates to consumers that shopping with its company is a sustainable choice to make.
