Nurofen

Is Nurofen an ethical pain remedies brand?

Nurofen is the brand name for a range of painkillers containing ibuprofen. Unfortunately, Nurofen receives a below-benchmark score in The Good Shopping Guide’s Ethical Pain Remedies sector.

Because of its below benchmark score, Nurofen is not yet eligible for Ethical Accreditation. However, we still suggest that it gets in touch to send us an application. After we receive its application, The Good Shopping Guide will provide Nurofen with some advice on how to enhance its score.

Do you want to find out how Nurofen compares against other well-known painkiller brands? Visit the Pain Remedies Ethical Ratings Table. The Good Shopping Guide’s Ratings Table can teach you more about the criteria that our top-rated brands have fulfilled to meet our minimum ethical benchmark.

The Good Shopping Guide encourages all brands to follow the good example that has been set by our top-rated brands and introduce more ethical practices.

Does Nurofen have an Environmental Report?

Reckitt Benckiser, Nurofen’s parent company has a recent Sustainability Insights Report. The report contains targets such as becoming Carbon Neutral, reducing water consumption and reducing energy consumption. It also includes evidence of progress.

As a result, Nurofen has a top score for our Environmental Report category.

What does Nurofen receive a bottom rating for?

Unfortunately, Nurofen receives a bottom rating for Animal Welfare. Reckitt Benckiser states on its website that it tests on animals when it is legally mandated.

Despite claiming that it seeks to minimise the number of animals used for testing, it still receives a bottom rating for Animal Welfare.

What can Nurofen do to improve its score?

Nurofen’s below-benchmark rating on The Good Shopping Guide’s Pain Remedies Ethical Ratings Table is the result of an evaluation of multiple ethical criteria.

As it doesn’t yet have a top score in the Ethical Pain Remedies Sector, The Good Shopping Guide encourages Nurofen to get in touch to apply for Ethical Accreditation. After receiving its application, The Good Shopping Guide will offer Nurofen some advice on how to improve its score. After following our advice, Nurofen could see its position rise on our Ratings Table.
