Stoves

How ethical and sustainable is Stoves?

Stoves is included in The Good Shopping Guide’s dishwashers Ethical Ratings Table. Although Stoves hasn’t yet upheld our ethical standards, we have faith that eventually it will in order to operate as a more moral company. By requesting Ethical Accreditation, which includes a more thorough investigation and recommendations for ethical development, stoves may boost consumer trust.

More information on the issues this industry faces may be found in The Good Shopping Guide to Eco-friendly dishwasher brands.

What does Stoves do?

Stoves was formed in 1920 producing a range of cookers, dishwashers, washing machines and wine coolers. The brand also includes a built-in collection that offers integrated washing machines, dishwashers and other appliances.

For which criteria does Stoves perform poorly?

Due to the absence of a code of conduct, stoves received a poor rating. The parent company of the brand obtained a mixed evaluation for its environmental report because it has a sustainability report that only lists a Net Zero goal and other signs of development. The parent firm criticised Stoves for not paying its employees a decent wage in addition to giving it a poor score for how it handled human rights issues.

In what areas does Stoves score well for its ethics?

As the dishwasher company has no ties to any of the following: nuclear power, fossil fuels, animal welfare, armaments, political donations, or public record complaints, Stoves obtains a good rating.

How can Stoves improve its ethical rating?

The Ethical rating of a brand is divided into three categories by The Good Shopping Guide: the Environment, People and Animals. Find out more about how we rate.

Stoves may improve its rating and meet our core ethical standards by releasing a Code of Conduct and a more complete Environmental Report that include a number of goals for the brand to strive for.
