How ethical and sustainable is Mejuri? 

Mejuri is included in The Good Shopping Guide’s Jewellery Ethical Ratings Table. Mejuri has yet to meet our ethical standards, but we believe that in the future, the brand will make the necessary changes to function as a more ethical organisation. Mejuri might increase consumer trust by applying for Ethical Accreditation, which would include a more complete examination and suggestions for ethical development.

What does Mejuri do?

Mejuri began in 2015 as a fine jewellery company that aims to Redefine luxury. The brand produces Jewellery that is ‘made to live in’ claiming to have responsible sourcing at the cornerstone of it all.

For which criteria does Mejuri perform poorly? 

Mejuri received a low rating for its Diamond Sourcing Policy as there is no information on where the diamonds are from. Mejuri receives a middle rating for its Environmental Report, Code of Conduct and Fairtrade Policy. The brand does produce a range of recycled gold products as well as having a supplier Code of conduct which outlines its Child labour policy but many other areas are vague such as stating that working hours will comply with local laws and seek to align with ILO conventions suggesting that this is not a very strict requirement.

The brand Sustainability page talks about traceability and ensuring that diamonds do not fuel armed conflict but there is not much environmental info and therefore only receives a middle rating.

In what areas does Mejuri score well for its ethics?

Mejuri receives a high score in  our Nuclear Power, Fossil Fuel, Animal Welfare, Armaments and Political Donation categories as it has no links to any issues within these sectors.
