Ethical brand ratings and accreditation since 2001

Trend Tonic: Ethical Jewellery Handmade With Style

Trend Tonic has been awarded Ethical Accreditation from The GOOD Shopping Guide, achieving a perfect GSG Ethical Score of 100 in our Jewellery Ethical Ratings Table. The Kent-based brand has also earned Ethical Innovator status in recognition of its inventive use of sustainable cork. A score of 100 is the highest possible result in our assessment, placing this small, independent jewellery maker among the leading ethical choices in its sector.

Statement Jewellery Made From Cork

Trend Tonic is best known for its bold, lightweight cork earrings. Cork is harvested from the bark of cork oak trees without cutting them down, so the trees keep growing and the bark regenerates. Cork forests also absorb carbon dioxide and provide a home for wildlife, making cork a much lower-impact alternative to the mined metals and gemstones used across much of the jewellery industry. Trend Tonic buys its cork directly from Portugal and uses only FSC®-certified materials, so customers can be confident they come from responsibly managed forests.

Handmade in Kent

Every piece is handmade in Trend Tonic’s own studio in Kent, where the cork is cut by hand and finished with nickel-free, hypoallergenic stainless steel fittings. Because the brand uses no gold, silver or diamonds, it steers clear of the high-risk supply chains often linked to precious metals and gemstones. Its core materials come from three small, family-run suppliers in Portugal and Poland, bought direct with no agents or middlemen. Trend Tonic reviews its suppliers every year and favours those with independent certification, keeping its supply chain short, transparent and accountable.

Plastic-Free to Your Door

Trend Tonic’s care for the planet extends all the way to the doorstep. Orders are sent out in recyclable paper bags and recycled, recyclable cardboard boxes, sealed with paper tape, so every parcel arrives completely plastic-free.

An Ethical Innovator

Trend Tonic’s creative approach to materials has earned it our Ethical Innovator status, reserved for only our most pioneering brands. By showing that statement jewellery can be comfortable, eye-catching and made from a renewable natural material, the brand offers a fresh alternative for shoppers who want to accessorise more sustainably.

As Trend Tonic celebrates its first year of Ethical Accreditation from The GOOD Shopping Guide, it sets a powerful example of how a small, independent maker can lead the way in ethical jewellery, with designs that are as bold as they are kind to the planet.
