Ethical brand ratings and accreditation since 2001

A Score of 98 Wins Smelly Men Ethical Accreditation

Smelly Men has been awarded Ethical Accreditation from The GOOD Shopping Guide for the first time, following our independent assessment of its ethical credentials. The natural personal care brand has achieved an outstanding GSG Ethical Score of 98 in our Deodorant Ethical Ratings Table, and has also earned our Ethical Innovator status. For a small, independent brand, this is a remarkable achievement that reflects strong performance across the Environment, Animals and People.

Natural Ingredients, Vegan Values

Smelly Men makes hand-made, vegan personal care products for men, women and boys, with a focus on natural ingredients. Its products are free from SLS, phthalates, parabens and palm oil, an approach the brand sets out in its Ingredients Philosophy. Its vegan credentials have been verified through our Vegan Assessment, and because every product is cruelty-free, none are ever tested on animals.

Packaging Without the Plastic

Smelly Men has worked hard to keep plastic out of its packaging. Deodorants come in push-up cardboard tubes that go straight into the paper and card recycling once finished, while soap is sold in a simple cardboard carton with no shrink wrap or plastic window. Beard oil and shaving serum come in glass bottles with bamboo lids. These efforts have seen the brand named a Plastic Free Champion by Surfers Against Sewage.

Keeping It Local

Rather than shipping products across the globe, Smelly Men works only with UK suppliers who share its ethical values. This cuts down on transport miles and supports British businesses at the same time. The brand uses Royal Mail for all its deliveries to keep the carbon footprint of each parcel low, and one of its suppliers, The White Label Botanist, uses renewable energy at its production facility. An Ethical Innovator

Smelly Men’s natural formulations, almost entirely plastic-free packaging and commitment to local sourcing are just some of the reasons it has earned our Ethical Innovator status, reserved for only our most pioneering brands.

As Smelly Men celebrates its first year of Ethical Accreditation from The GOOD Shopping Guide, it sets a powerful example for the personal care sector, showing that smelling good and doing good can go hand in hand.
