What does LG receive a top rating for?
As one of our best TV brands, LG receives multiple top scores. However, we were particularly impressed that several LG TVs have an Environmental Claim Validation. This confirms that products contain recycled materials as well as other eco-friendly features.
No other TV brands within the Ethical Televisions sector have this which is why LG is awarded a top score for our Eco Labels category.
Does LG have any bottom scores?
Unfortunately, LG receives a bottom score for The Good Shopping Guide’s Other Criticisms category.
Within the recent Corporate Information Transparency Index (CITI), LG receives a low score of 12.6/100.
The CTI is a system used to evaluate supply chain practices in China, in particular: environmental management and water pollution. The scores are calculated by using a variety of different data sources including government compliance data and online monitoring data.
What can LG do to improve its score?
LG’s score within The Good Shopping Guide’s Televisions Ethical Ratings Table is the result of a calculation of multiple ethical criteria.
Even though it is already an above benchmark brand, LG could still improve upon its bottom ratings, including its score for Other Criticisms. By doing so, LG could see its position rise even further on our Ratings Table.
We recommend that LG applies for Ethical Accreditation so that it can use our ethics and
sustainability logo.
