Pom-Bear

Does Pom-Bear produce ethical and sustainable crisps?

First introduced in the UK in the 1990s, Pom-Bear is a popular brand which produces bear-shaped crisps. Within The Good Shopping Guide’s Ethical Crisps sector, Pom-Bear has a below-benchmark score, making it a bottom-rated brand. Unfortunately, this means Pom-Bear is not yet eligible for Ethical Accreditation. However, we hope it improves its standards in the future to become a more ethical brand.

Would you like to find out how other popular brands rank against Pom-Bear within the Ethical Crisps sector? Have a look at The Good Shopping Guide’s Crisps Ethical Ratings Table. From our Ratings Tables, you can discover more about the criteria that a brand must fulfil to receive a top rating.

What does Pom-Bear receive a top rating for?

Pom-Bear receives a top score for our Environmental Report category. Pom-Bear’s parent brand Intersnack Group has a Sustainability Report which contains evidence of progress and future targets. This includes a target for packaging, reducing waste and reducing carbon emissions.

What does Pom-Bear receive a bottom rating for?

Unfortunately, Pom-Bear receives a bottom rating for our Organic category as it has not yet received any organic certification.

Additionally, as Pom-Bear does not have any products labelled as vegetarian or vegan, the brand has a bottom rating in the Vegetarian/vegan criterion.

What can Pom-Bear do to improve its score?

The ethical rating of a brand is divided into three categories by The Good Shopping Guide: the Environment, Animals and People. Find out more about how we rate.

We encourage Pom-Bear to improve its record in all areas where it receives either a middle or bottom rating. This includes the Organic, Vegetarian/vegan and Palm Oil Free categories.
