What does Bio D do?

Michael Barwell developed Bio D in 1989 in an effort to find naturally derived substitutes. The company is pleased to produce 100% vegan and cruelty-free goods and hold the B Corp certification. The company not only produces environmentally friendly laundry detergent, but also a variety of hand soap, toilet cleaning, bathroom cleanser, and washing up liquid.

In what areas does Bio D perform well? 

Bio D excels in a variety of business sectors. For a tiny business, the brand’s sustainability report lays out a lot of goals and provides a lot of detail. It tackles concerns related to the industry, such as energy consumption, trash generation, and water use, with specific goals for packaging and more ambiguous ones for carbon emissions. Phthalates, Triclosan, formaldehyde, and parabens are not used, according to the brand’s “What we leave out” webpage.

The brand is registered with CFI and a member of The Vegan Society in addition to getting high marks in the categories of armaments, political donations, nuclear power and fossil fuels.
