We encourage other companies in the Soft Drinks sector to follow Britvic’s example and adopt more ethical policies and practices.
What does Britvic do?
Britvic was founded in the 1930s by a British chemist, Mr H D Rawlings, to create soft drinks as a source of vitamins. It was originally called The British Vitamin Product Company and changed its name to Britvic in 1971. Britvic now owns several international soft drinks brands.

In addition, all Britvic products are certified by The Vegetarian Society so the brand gets a top score for our Organic criterion.
We found no criticisms of Britvic relating to; GM, Nuclear, Fossil Fuels, Animal Welfare, Political Donations or Armaments, therefore it scores well across these criteria. Find out more about how we rate.
What can Britvic do to improve its score?
The above benchmark score that Britvic is awarded on The Good Shopping Guide’s Ethical Soft Drinks Ratings Table is the result of an evaluation of multiple ethical criteria.
As Britvic already receives a top score in the Ethical Soft Drinks sector, The Good Shopping Guide encourages it to get in touch and apply for Ethical Accreditation. After sending in its application, Britvic will be offered the use of The Good Shopping Guide Ethical Mark.
However we would encourage Britvic to gain organic certification in order to improve its score. If Britvic applies for Ethical Accreditation, The Good Shopping Guide would be able to offer some guidance on this.
