Centrum

Is Centrum an ethical vitamin and supplement brand?

Centrum is an American brand of multivitamins owned by Haleon, a spin-off company from GSK’s consumer healthcare division.

Unfortunately, Centrum has a below benchmark score on the Vitamins & Supplements Ethical Ratings Table and as a result, cannot be classed as an ethical brand.

Although it does not yet reach our minimum benchmark, we still suggest that Centrum get in touch and apply for Ethical Accreditation. By applying, The Good Shopping Guide would be able to offer Centrum an assessment and some advice on how to work on its low rating.

All brands are encouraged by The Good Shopping Guide to adopt more ethical practices like our top-rated brands.

What does Centrum receive a top rating for?

Centrum receives a top rating for our Environmental Report category. Haleon, Centrum’s parent company, has several Sustainability pages on its website. These address several sustainability issues such as carbon emissions, packaging and ingredients, including what Haleon is doing to improve in these areas.

Centrum also receives a top rating for our Organic category as it produces USDA-certified organic vitamins.

How does Centrum do on Animal Welfare?

Since Haleon is involved in animal testing, Centrum receives a bottom rating in the Animal Welfare category. The brand also receives a bottom rating for Vegetarian/Vegan, as it does not have any certified vegetarian or vegan products.

What can Centrum do to improve its score?

The below benchmark score that Centrum receives from The Good Shopping Guide is the outcome of an assessment of a variety of ethical criteria.

Even though it currently has a low score on the Vitamins & Supplements Ethical Ratings Table, we still suggest that Centrum gets in touch and apply for Ethical Accreditation. By applying, Centrum would receive some advice on how it can improve its score to become one of our best supplement brands.
