Is FAIR an ethical spirits brand?

Owned by Ethical Wine & Spirits Inc, FAIR is a brand which receives an excellent score on The Good Shopping Guide’s Spirits Ethical Ratings Table.

As it has such a high score, all FAIR needs to do to receive our ethics and sustainability certification is apply for Ethical Accreditation. We would provide FAIR with a little bit of advice on how to work on its bottom scores before offering it our certification.

What makes FAIR a sustainable and ethical spirits brand?

On its website, FAIR has an ‘Activism’ page which discusses being a Fairtrade-certified brand that gives back to farmers in countries such as Bolivia, Uzbekistan and Sri Lanka. It also mentions how its products are made with ingredients that are gluten-free, natural and non-GMO. FAIR also discusses its target of zero plastic by 2024.

What scores does FAIR need to work on?

FAIR receives a bottom score for The Good Shopping Guide’s Organic and Vegetarian/Vegan research categories. This is because it has not received certification from the Soil Association, The Vegetarian Society, or The Vegan Society.

What can FAIR do to improve its score further? 

FAIR’s top score within The Good Shopping Guide’s Ethical Spirits sector is the result of a calculation of multiple ethical criteria.

With such an excellent score, the only thing left for FAIR to do now is apply for Ethical Accreditation so that we can award it with our Ethical Mark. We would offer FAIR some advice on how to work on its bottom scores for Organic and Vegetarian/Vegan before awarding it with our certification.
