How ethical is Oy!?

Oy!, a sustainable skincare brand owned by Green People Company Ltd., is one of The Good Shopping Guide’s top-rated ethical brands. Oy! is a brand created especiall for teenage skin prone to breakouts and acne, and uses gentle, natural and organic ingredients to balance sebum levels and reduce irritation and redness. The brand receives an excellent Good Shopping Guide ethical score of 100 in our Ethical Skincare Ratings Table and therefore passes our ethical benchmark with flying colours.

Green People has products certified by the Soil Association, The Vegan Society, and The Vegetarian Society, and therefore, Oy! has been awarded a top rating in our Organic and Vegetarian/Vegan criteria. 

Moreover, as Oy! is a cruelty-free brand with a firm stance against animal testing, it gets top marks under Animal Welfare. Oy! also receives a top rating for Public Record Criticisms, as the brand has not received any criticism from NGOs, campaign groups, or the press.  

What makes Oy! so sustainable? 

Numerous sustainable efforts at Oy! support the company’s reputation for sustainability. In the Sun Protection industry, its parent company, Green People, provides a selection of reef-safe sunscreens to address the problem of coral reef deterioration. Additionally, Green People partners with World Land Trust, which raises money to purchase and protect environmentally threatened areas in Africa, Asia, and Central and South America.

How did Oy! attain Ethical Accreditation?

Oy! has attained Ethical Accreditation from The Good Shopping Guide. This involved an application process and a full review of the brand’s ethical policies and practices. Oy! is subject to an annual review to ensure the company maintains high ethical standards.

As a result, Oy! is permitted to use our Good Shopping Guide Ethical logo, which certifies the brand’s ethical status and allows consumers to recognise Oy! as an ethical brand.
