What does Persil receive a top rating for?

Because of its lack of negative records, Persil is awarded with a top score in the categories of Fossil Fuels, Armaments and Nuclear Power.

Why does Seventh Generation have a bottom rating for Animal Welfare?

Unilever, Persil’s parent company’s Animal Testing Policy states that it will test certain products on animals to comply with government regulations.

Unfortunately, Unilever is also featured on PETA’s list of companies that are working towards ‘regulatory changes to reduce animal testing’.

What can Persil do to improve its score?

The below benchmark score that Persil receives on The Good Shopping Guide’s Laundry Detergents Ethical Ratings Table is the result of an evaluation of multiple ethical criteria.

Even though Persil’s score does not reach The Good Shopping Guide’s minimum ethical benchmark in the Ethical Laundry Detergents sector, we still encourage it to apply for Ethical Accreditation.
