How ethical is Purdey’s?

Purdey’s is a brand of soft drinks with an above-benchmark score on The Good Shopping Guide’s Ethical Soft Drinks Ratings Table. With a high GSG score, Purdey’s can be considered an ethical brand.

Purdey’s hasn’t yet applied for Ethical Accreditation, but its high score would mean that if it did, it would be able to display The Good Shopping Guide’s Ethical Mark on its products. We encourage other companies in the Soft Drinks sector to follow Purdey’s example and adopt more ethical policies and practices.

What does Purdey’s do?

Purdey’s produces a range of natural energy drinks boosted by fruit juice, botanicals and b-vitamins. Purdey’s is owned by Britvic.

In which areas does Purdey’s perform well?

Purdey’s performs well for its Environmental Report, as its parent company, Britvic, has an Annual Report 2021 containing several targets, as well as lots of evidence of progress in its 2020 Sustainability Performance Datasheet. In addition, all Purdey’s products are certified by The Vegetarian Society so the brand gets a top score for our Organic criterion.

As Purdey’s already receives a top score in the Ethical Soft Drinks sector, The Good Shopping Guide encourages it to get in touch and apply for Ethical Accreditation. After sending in its application, Purdey’s will be offered the use of The Good Shopping Guide Ethical Mark.

However we would encourage Purdey’s to gain organic certification in order to improve its score. If Purdey’s applies for Ethical Accreditation, The Good Shopping Guide would be able to offer some guidance on this.
