How ethical and sustainable is Quavers?

Quavers is included in The Good Shopping Guide‘s Crisps Ethical Ratings Table. Quavers has yet to meet our ethical standards, but we believe that in the future, the brand will make the necessary changes to function as a more ethical organisation.

Are you interested in seeing how Quavers rates against other brands within the Ethical Crisps sector? Visit the Crisps Ethical Ratings Table. From The Good Shopping Guide’s Ratings Tables, you can learn more about the criteria that our top-rated brands have fulfilled.

What does Quavers do?

Quavers is a popular Crisp brand owned by PepsiCo, it was launched in 1968 initially sold in two flavours cheese and smoky bacon but now many other variations such as salt and vinegar, prawn cocktail and ketchup have been sold. Quavers are one of many Walkers crisp brands.

For which criteria does Quavers perform poorly?

Since Quavers’ parent company Pepsi admitted to using GM ingredients in its products, the company’s genetic modification policy has received a negative rating.  Due to its use of animal experiments and regular political payments over recent U.S. election cycles, Pepsi also earned a low ranking for Animal Welfare and Political Donations.

In what areas does Quavers score well for its ethics?

Quavers receives a top rating for Environmental Report, as the PepsiCo has a list of 2025 goals which demonstrates a commitment to improving its environmental record.

How can Quavers improve its ethical rating?

The Ethical rating of a brand is divided into three categories by The Good Shopping Guide: the Environment, People and Animals. Find out more about how we rate.

By eliminating all GMOs from its goods and stopping all political donations, Quavers may raise its grade and satisfy our core ethical standards.
