How ethical is Suma?

Suma is a brand of toiletries which has a good score on The Good Shopping Guide’s Ethical Soap & Shower Gel Ratings Table.

With a high GSG score, Suma can be considered an ethical brand. Suma hasn’t yet applied for Ethical Accreditation, but its high score would mean that if it did, it would be able to display The Good Shopping Guide’s Ethical Mark on its products.

What does Suma do?

Suma is  a worker co-op, a business owned and run by the nearly 200 people who work there. It was founded over 40 years ago with a mission to supply vegetarian and sustainable ingredients and personal care products.

Suma performs well for its robust Environmental Report which covers its ethical credentials and emphasises its co-operative structure. The brand also gets a top score for Vegetarian as it has products certified by The Vegan Society, and Animal Welfare as it is CFI approved.
