Dell has been the subject of praise for spearheading the NextWave initiative, which, among other things, aims to support major businesses in reducing plastic use across operations and the supply chain.

Working with positive impact company Lonely Whale, at the heart of the initiative is the broader aim of developing new models for company supply chains that reduces net ocean-bound plastic. The aims of the initiative will find guidance by initiving input from scientists, researchers and campaigners. As reported by edit.net, other stipulations include how, “part of NextWave’s founding principles, companies will have to ensure that all solutions are open-sourced and peer-reviewed by the scientific community”. Some notable members already included Trek Bicycle, Herman Miller, Bureo, Humanscale, General Motors and Interface.
