A coalition of hospitality companies has recently issued calls for modern slavery to be made top priority. The calls follow the publication of a new report by the Stop Slavery Network, which estimates 115,000 human trafficking victims are currently working in the European hospitality sector. The report also discusses the extent of labour exploitation in the hospitality industry, as the estimates predict approximately one in ten people who work in or are involved with the hospitality industry are affected by modern slavery practices.
