Impossible foods – the home of the headline grabbing impossible burger – has opened its first large-scale production facility. The company plans for its new factory to produce 1 million pounds of its vegetarian meat.

But if the food ethics behind the brand’s mission is not enough, the new 68,000 square feet production facility will target 75% reduction in water usage and produce 87% less greenhouse gases, requiring approximately 95% less land, in comparison to the standard production of ground beef.
