Ethical brand ratings and accreditation since 2001

EQ: Independently Verified as Ethical

EQ has been awarded Ethical Accreditation from The GOOD Shopping Guide, earning its place on our Top 200 Ethical Businesses list and confirming its position as one of the top-rated brands in our Sun Protection Ethical Ratings Table. Following our assessment, EQ achieved a strong GSG Ethical Score of 94, a well-deserved result for a brand that has built its identity around ocean-friendly sun care.

Sun Protection with Personality

EQ’s coloured SPF50+ sun sticks come in ten shades, from raspberry to purple to sand beige, making sun protection fun for adults and children alike. Beyond the colours, the range spans organic sun creams, combi-sticks that pair cream and stick in one tube, family-friendly SPF50, and lip protection. Every product uses 100% mineral filters rather than chemical ones, meaning they protect skin without harming coral reefs or marine life.

Born from the Ocean, Built to Protect It

EQ grew out of surf culture, and that connection to the coastline runs through everything the brand does. Its formulas are certified organic by Ecocert and Cosmebio, its packaging is recyclable and FSC-certified, and its products are designed to withstand sun, salt water, and wind.

The brand is currently developing partnerships with ocean protection organisations and working with youth associations to educate the next generation about responsible sun care. In São Tomé and Príncipe, EQ provides sun protection to young surfers while raising awareness about looking after the ocean.

Setting the Standard in Sun Care

EQ’s newly awarded Ethical Accreditation from The GOOD Shopping Guide sets a strong example for other brands in the sun protection sector, demonstrating that effective sun care and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand.
