Is Sensodyne an ethical toothpaste brand?

Owned by GSK Place, Sensodyne is a toothpaste brand known for its products for sensitive teeth.

Unfortunately, Sensodyne has a low score compared to other brands within The Good Shopping Guide’s Ethical Toothpaste Sector. As a result of its low score, it does not yet meet our minimum benchmark and is not classed as an ethical toothpaste brand.

Despite not quite reaching our minimum benchmark, we still encourage Sensodyne to get in touch and apply for Ethical Accreditation. By applying, The Good Shopping Guide would provide Sensodyne with an assessment, followed by some advice on how to work on its bottom scores.

Do you wish to see how other well-known toothpaste brands compare against Sensodyne within the Ethical Toothpaste Sector? Have a look at the Toothpaste Ethical Ratings Table.  The Good Shopping Guide’s Ratings Table can help you learn about the criteria that our top-rated brands have fulfilled to reach our minimum ethical benchmark.

All brands are encouraged by The Good Shopping Guide to follow the example set by our top-rated brands and start to introduce more ethical policies.

What does Sensodyne receive a top rating for?

Sensodyne receives a top rating for our Armaments and Nuclear Power categories due to its lack of negative records.

Why does Sensodyne receive a bottom rating for our Animal Welfare category?

Unfortunately GSK, Sensodyne’s parent company, still tests on animals.

GSK claims that ‘Animal studies represent a small but vital part’ of its research within its Public Policy Positions statement.

We hope that in the future, GSK will improve upon its low score for our Animal Welfare category.

What can Sensodyne do to improve its score?

Sensodyne’s below benchmark score within The Good Shopping Guide’s Ethical Toothpaste Sector is the outcome of an assessment of a variety of ethical criteria.

Because it has a low score in the Ethical Toothpaste Sector we recommend that Sensodyne get in touch and apply for Ethical Accreditation. That way, The Good Shopping Guide would be able to offer Sensodyne some tailored advice on how to work on its bottom scores.

Did you know that your Toothpaste brand may benefit from Ethical Accreditation? Our accredited brands can proudly display our logo on its products and advertisement, showcasing to consumers that it is an ethical and sustainable brand.
