Apple’s 12th annual Supplier Responsibility Progress Report has been released. Within it are a number of details concerning Apple’s continuing commitments to a greener supply chain and improved working conditions.

The global tech giant announced that tangible progress has been made on both of these fronts, with significant milestones achieved in the past year concerning things like waste, the development of a PET recycling initiative and a scheme to re-use material liners, as well as new low-carbon energy procurement. All iPhone final assembly sites around the world have now been certified as zero waste to landfill, while an increased number of Apple products were made using renewable energy. It follows that in 2017 Apple saw an overall reduction in overall energy usage and carbon emissions.
