How ethical and sustainable is Planet Organic’s vegan milk?
Planet Organic is a brand of vegan milk ethically scored and researched by The Good Shopping Guide.
Planet Organic scores above our Ethical Benchmark for this sector category. The brand also ranks in the top percentile in most of our categories. In fact, the only thing left for Planet Organic to be considered a truly sustainable and ethical vegan milk is to get The Good Shopping Guide’s Ethical Accreditation.
If Planet Organic proposed they should be awarded Ethical Accreditation, the company would be eligible to use our prestigious Ethical Mark. Planet Organic would also be given recommendations on how to maintain its ethical excellence, and continue to lead the sector of Vegan Milk to be continually more sustainable and conscious.

What is Planet Organic and what does it do?
With eight stores in the South East, Planet Organic is now the largest completely certified organic supermarket in the UK and offers more than 8,000 product categories. A partnership between delivery service Supper and Planet Organic was announced in January 2020, allowing customers to order and have various foods delivered from the company’s two outlets on Tottenham Court Road.
Within the next four years, Planet Organic stated ambitions to quadruple the number of outlets it now has, bringing its total to about 18.
Where does Planet Organic score well as a brand, ethically?
Planet Organic scores in the top tier of brands in most of our assessment categories, such as Animal Welfare, Organic products, Sustainable Power and Genetic Modification. (We believe it’s best practice for brands to produce and publish a statement clarifying their use of GMOs, as this way of growing ingredients for food, drink, and medicinal or cosmetic products has not been researched enough to know the full environmental or medical effects.)
How can Planet Organic improve its Ethical Rating?
The Good Shopping Guide uses a myriad of assessment categories to determine if a brand is considered ethical and therefore suitable for Ethical Accreditation. These criteria are used to calculate Planet Organic’s scores across all of its surveyed areas. To continue improving its Ethical Rating, the company can apply for Ethical Accreditation and acquire that status.
Ethical Accreditation might be advantageous for your brand of vegan milk. Visit our Ratings Tables to see the other companies that have received this certification for ethics and sustainability.
